Also the image has to be either 8 bit, or 16 bit.
This often leads to a bit of confusion, as most programs will save in 32, or 24 bits.
Luckily, Windows has a program built in that will take care of this for us.

If you need to convert your image into a .bmp you can easily open it up in Paint, by right clicking the image, and selecting "Edit" in the context menu.
Otherwize, you can open up Paint, by going to the start menu, and looking under Accessories.
